Senior Technical Program Manager, Global Supply Chain – LiDAR & Optical Circuit Switches (OCS)

Voyant Photonics•New York, NY
•$130,000 - $200,000•Onsite

About The Position

Voyant Photonics is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to build and run the global supply chain for its LiDAR and optical circuit switch (OCS) product lines. The role owns supply chain programs from prototype sourcing through high-volume manufacturing, coordinating wafer foundries, packaging and test partners, component suppliers, and contract manufacturers across North America, Asia, and Europe. The role works closely with engineering, operations, procurement, quality, finance, and customers to ensure products can be built on time, at target cost, and at scale. The position leads sourcing strategy, supplier selection, capacity and cost planning, demand planning, manufacturing transfers, and the transition from prototype through production. It also manages supply risks, supplier quality and change control, global logistics and trade compliance, supply chain systems and metrics, and executive and customer communications. The work is primarily in person at Voyant’s Midtown Manhattan lab and office. The schedule is not a rigid 9-to-5 and may include early or late calls to work with customers across time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related technical field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in technical program management, supply chain, or operations for hardware products.
  • At least 5 years scaling complex hardware to volume production with global suppliers.
  • Direct experience with wafer foundries, OSATs, and contract manufacturers; photonics, optoelectronics, or semiconductor experience is preferred within this qualification.
  • Proven record managing suppliers in multiple regions, including Asia, and leading commercial and technical discussions alongside procurement.
  • Strong command of demand and capacity planning, S&OP, and ERP/MRP systems, with the ability to build data-driven models and turn them into decisions.
  • Mastery of schedule, budget, and risk management for cross-functional programs spanning engineering, operations, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s degree.
  • Automotive or industrial supply chain experience and familiarity with standards such as IATF 16949, AEC-Q qualification, and APQP/PPAP.
  • Familiarity with hyperscaler supply requirements, customer supply agreements, and data center qualification standards such as Telcordia GR-468.
  • Experience sourcing lasers, photodetectors, fiber assemblies, micro-optics, MEMS, or other optoelectronic components.
  • Hands-on experience with PFMEA, control plans, change control, and PCN management.
  • Working knowledge of export controls, tariffs, country-of-origin rules, and multi-region manufacturing footprints.
  • Experience managing contract test houses, including test transfer, correlation, and capacity planning.
  • APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification, or PMP certification.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action in a fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end supply chain programs for LiDAR and OCS, including sourcing strategy, supplier selection, capacity, cost targets, delivery schedules, and alignment with product NPI milestones.
  • Manage relationships with silicon photonics foundries, OSAT and packaging partners, contract manufacturers, and key component suppliers; run quarterly business reviews and supplier scorecards, and support contract negotiations with procurement.
  • Run the sales and operations planning (S&OP) process and translate customer forecasts into wafer starts, assembly and test capacity, and inventory plans that account for long lead times.
  • Drive manufacturing transfers, line qualification, yield ramps, and second-source qualification as products move through EVT, DVT, and PVT into mass production.
  • Identify and mitigate single-source, capacity, geopolitical, and tariff risks; build dual-sourcing strategies, buffer inventory plans, and business continuity plans for critical parts.
  • Own BOM cost roadmaps, should-cost models, and cost-down programs; track landed cost, including freight, duties, and yield loss, against product cost targets.
  • Partner with quality engineering on supplier qualification, PPAP-style releases, product change notifications, corrective actions, and engineering change control.
  • Oversee global logistics, Incoterms, customs, and country-of-origin requirements, and ensure export control and trade compliance obligations are met.
  • Build and scale supply chain processes and tools, including ERP/MRP, BOM management, and supplier portals.
  • Define and report KPIs such as on-time delivery, lead time, inventory turns, supplier yield, and cost versus plan.
  • Provide clear status, risk, and decision briefings to executives, the board, customers, and cross-functional teams.

Benefits

  • Catered lunch every day at headquarters.
