Senior Technical Program Manager, Partner Trip Platform

Waymo•Mountain View, CA
•$230,000 - $284,000

About The Position

Waymo is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead technical programs integrating Waymo’s autonomous service with third-party platforms. The role owns external integrations end to end, from cross-functional execution planning through processes that ensure quality after launch. It serves as the primary execution counterpart for external teams, turning ambiguous work into clear deliverables, owners, and schedules, and drives technical trade-off decisions across scope, schedule, scalability, and user experience. The position proactively identifies and mitigates risks and dependencies across multiple partner programs, represents those matters to executive leadership, and builds scalable frameworks, processes, and tooling to support partner onboarding and operations without a proportional increase in effort. The role is part of Waymo’s program management organization, which partners across company functions to plan and drive deployments of the Waymo Driver.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience leading highly complex, cross-functional technical programs, with a holistic understanding of functions such as Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Operations.
  • Track record of shipping consumer-facing software products and features, with ownership from kickoff through launch and post-launch operations.
  • Experience running programs with critical dependencies on teams outside your direct influence, and a record of getting those teams to deliver.
  • Strong technical depth, including the ability to read system designs, participate in architecture and API discussions with engineers, and assess scope, schedule, and risk implications.
  • Care for the end user and ability to keep rider experience and quality central to technically complex, multi-party programs.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, including the ability to align internal teams and external partners and influence executive stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with external-facing integrations, platform APIs, or B2B2C products where another company's engineering team was a critical dependency.
  • Experience in rideshare, mobility, delivery, two-sided marketplaces, or products where software coordinates physical operations in real time.
  • Experience launching products or integrations in multiple geographies, including localization, payments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with defining quality gates, testing plans, SLAs, and launch readiness processes for systems shared with external teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional technical programs to integrate Waymo's autonomous service with third-party platforms.
  • Own technical delivery of external integrations end to end, including cross-functional execution plans and processes for maintaining quality after launch.
  • Act as the primary execution counterpart for external teams, translating ambiguous work into defined deliverables, owners, and schedules.
  • Drive technical trade-off decisions involving scope, schedule, scalability, and user experience.
  • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks and dependencies across concurrent partner programs, and represent them to executive leadership.
  • Build scalable frameworks, processes, and tooling for onboarding and operating partner integrations.

Benefits

  • Eligibility to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program.
  • Equity incentive plan.
  • Generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
