About The Position

This role is responsible for translating market, customer, clinical, operational, and business requirements into clear technical requirements, solution concepts, user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable development plans through close collaboration with cross-functional technical teams, including IT, bioinformatics/genomic technology, laboratory operations, R&D, digital products, customer experience, quality, and other partners. The Technical Product Manager will leverage deep subject matter expertise in Baylor Genetics’ internal systems, relevant technology platforms, clinical products, workflows, and market dynamics to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, streamlined, and aligned with business impact, customer value, technical feasibility, and organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, genetics, bioinformatics, healthcare, business, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in technical product management in diagnostics, genomics, or related field
  • Experience in IT, R&D, or other technical field
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams or initiatives in a clinical, healthcare, laboratory, or regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to translate clinical, market, customer, and partner insights into practical product requirements, technical solutions, and implementation and testing plans.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, product leadership, engineering teams, architects, IT, bioinformatics/genomic technology, laboratory, R&D, digital products, customer experience, quality, and other cross-functional partners; translate market and business needs into clear technical product specifications, solution requirements, and actionable development plans.
  • Develop and manage technical product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, feature backlogs, process flows, and implementation-ready documentation; prioritize work by balancing customer value, business impact, operational needs, technical feasibility, risk, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, UX, quality, operations, laboratory, commercial, clinical, R&D, customer experience, and business teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure timely delivery, successful implementation, change readiness, adoption, and measurable value realization for product enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Analyze product performance metrics, customer feedback, market trends, internal workflow data, system capabilities, technical constraints, and implementation tradeoffs to identify opportunities, optimize solutions, inform prioritization, and support data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with technical teams to evaluate solution options, document workflows, define integration needs, clarify system impacts, surface risks and dependencies, and ensure proposed solutions are streamlined, comprehensive, scalable, supportable, and aligned with Baylor Genetics’ internal systems and technology environment.
  • Build and maintain strong subject matter expertise in Baylor Genetics’ clinical products, genetic testing workflows, bioinformatics and genomic technology capabilities, digital and operational systems, customer needs, competitive landscape, and relevant market dynamics to guide practical and differentiated product solutions.
  • Partner with product, technical, operational, commercial, customer experience, training, and support teams to enable successful rollout of new features and enhancements, including documentation, stakeholder communication, testing support, workflow readiness, adoption tracking, and post-implementation feedback loops.
  • Monitor delivered capabilities and ongoing product performance to identify enhancement opportunities, reduce friction, improve internal and customer-facing workflows, strengthen solution quality, and ensure technical product investments continue to support strategic priorities and business outcomes.
