About The Position

J.S. Held is hiring a Senior Technical Director to join its Environmental & Risk Advisory Service Line, focusing on waste management, remediation, corrective action, and environmental liability advisory services, including remediation strategy, regulatory negotiation, and cost‑to‑closure evaluation. This role supports industrial, insurance, legal, and transactional clients addressing complex soil, groundwater, sediment, and waste‑related challenges under federal and state regulatory frameworks. In addition to remediation and corrective action work, the role may involve transaction‑driven environmental due diligence, redevelopment and brownfield support, long‑term remediation program management, and advisory support related to environmental claims and remediation cost evaluation. This is a senior seller‑doer role requiring the ability to independently originate, develop, and sustain client relationships while also serving as a technical and project leader. The successful candidate is expected to bring an established network of client relationships and demonstrate a consistent ability to convert those relationships into awarded work. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior environmental professional who is looking to advance their career within an emerging global consulting firm. This is a full-time salaried role.

  • Proven track record of originating consulting work and sustaining long-term client relationships in an external consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate an active pipeline of client opportunities within waste, remediation, and environmental liability services.
  • Experience serving as primary client contact with responsibility for pursuit strategy, pricing, and repeat work.
  • Ability to manage complex technical projects while maintaining profitability and schedule discipline.
