About The Position

RunSybil is looking for its first technical content writer to help build its content engine. The role involves owning content writing and the calendar that keeps content moving. This is a writing-first role, but the ideal candidate will think like a content marketer, understanding how to repurpose content across different platforms and formats. The writer will focus on the big picture and how content will scale as RunSybil grows. This position will be part of the marketing team.

Requirements

  • Process-minded approach to content creation, focusing on the big picture and scalability.
  • 5-7 years of content or technical writing experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or adjacent technical fields.
  • Background in application security, penetration testing, or offensive security.
  • Proven experience writing for technical audiences such as security engineers, heads of security, and CISOs.
  • Content marketing instincts: ability to extend a blog post into social media, soundbites, and repurposed formats.
  • Comfortable across various formats: long-form, short-form, email, video scripts, etc.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely, being technical without being verbose.
  • Ability to follow and internalize a writing style guide and provide feedback when necessary.
  • Strategic use of AI: comfortable using AI as a copy-editing aid, but not relying on AI-generated content.
  • Organized and deadline-driven.
  • Creative and collaborative, bringing ideas to the team.
  • Comfortable asking questions to clarify briefs.

Responsibilities

  • Write blog posts based on SEO/GEO briefs provided by an agency.
  • Assist researchers and engineers with writing technical research.
  • Co-own social posts, primarily on LinkedIn with occasional X posts.
  • Co-own the content calendar, including planning, scheduling, and tracking content in progress.
  • Write case studies, white papers, technical documentation, and web copy.
  • Create content for email newsletters and product announcements.
  • Develop scripts, briefs, and written support for video and multimedia content.
  • Review and elevate content from external contributors when needed (editing and QA).
