About The Position
Warner Bros. Games Montréal is seeking a Senior Gameplay Technical Animator. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing gameplay features into the game engine, collaborating closely with various gameplay teams. You will act as a liaison between programming and content creation teams. You will also contribute to evaluating new technologies and work with all disciplines to provide production teams with the necessary tools to create high-quality content while respecting technical constraints. Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role.
- Experience on a AAA title is required.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and visually.
- Positive attitude and a desire to bring new ideas to the team.
- Proficiency with standard industry tools such as Unreal Engine, 3ds Max, Maya, and MotionBuilder.
- Strong understanding of methods for optimizing artistic assets for game engines.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current animation techniques used in game engines and development processes for console games.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Python, MEL, MaxScript, or similar systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge in animation and an excellent artistic sense.
Responsibilities
- Produce, maintain, and optimize Gameplay Animation graphs (NPCs, 3Cs, Combat).
- Support and improve the integration of animation assets into the game engine.
- Act as a central point between Programming, Design, and Animation teams.
- Work closely with the Animation team to define, create, and maintain the animation pipeline.
- Master the features and tools of the animation system and its editor.
- Identify and resolve problems before they affect the development team.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams comprising art, design, and programming, and document work clearly and concisely.
- Act as the first line of support on the content side when a technical problem arises.
