About The Position

Trout CPA, a full-service certified public accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Associate in its Tax department. The Senior Tax Associate takes greater ownership of tax engagements while continuing to build technical expertise. The role involves preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, identifying tax-planning opportunities, supporting client relationships, and guiding Associates through the preparation process.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Three to five years of strong tax preparation experience, preferably with a CPA firm.
• CPA license or actively working toward licensure.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CCH Axcess or comparable tax software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Manage tax engagements and help ensure accurate, timely client deliverables.
• Research tax issues and identify opportunities to reduce clients’ tax liabilities.
• Assist with tax planning, consulting, and tax provision work.
• Review Associates’ work and provide guidance and feedback.
• Communicate with clients and team members regarding tax matters and engagement expectations.
