Tax Senior Associate
About The Position
CLA is a national professional services firm providing industry-focused wealth advisory, digital, audit, tax, consulting, and outsourcing services. CLA is seeking a Tax Senior Associate for its Heartland CLA Region, with locations in St. Louis, Kansas City, Peoria, Bloomington, Dixon, Champaign, Danville, and O'Fallon. In this role, you will prepare, supervise, and review tax engagements; provide customized tax advisory services to clients; collaborate with team members on complex tax issues; and contribute to engagement management and operational excellence. You will also develop and train team members and continue building your technical and professional knowledge through client interactions, self-study, and training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions), or eligibility to sit for the CPA exams and meet the 150-credit requirement to obtain a CPA license.
- At least 2 years of experience as an associate in public accounting.
- Interest in a firm that supports and fosters career goals.
- Willingness to help others and join a high-performing team.
- Ability to solve issues and confidently bring solutions forward.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
- Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services.
- Work with tax team members to identify and research complex tax issues.
- Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
- Develop and train team members.
- Expand technical and professional knowledge through client interactions, self-study, and training opportunities.
