We are seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join our finance team in a dynamic and globally focused environment. This role will support tax compliance, tax accounting and tax planning initiatives across multiple jurisdictions with the main focus on Canadian tax matters. The ideal candidate will have strong technical tax expertise, experience working in multinational environments, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Senior Tax Accountant will be a key contributor responsible for many different types of tax matters in this growing company reporting into the Tax Manager. Requirements

  • 2-5 years of tax experience, preferably with exposure to international taxation
  • Experience in public accounting or multinational corporate tax departments is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of international tax concepts, transfer pricing, and global tax compliance
  • Strong experience working with complex and fast-paced tax provisions under IFRS or US GAAP
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA) in progress required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good research skills are necessary.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns and other information returns.
  • Preparation of Canadian, International and consolidated quarterly and annual tax accounting provisions under US GAAP.
  • Assist in the preparation of international tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transaction reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to Canadian federal, provincial, indirect and state tax audits.
  • Provide tax support and guidance to internal stakeholders while assisting with income tax projects and related research initiatives.
  • Assist in the Indirect tax compliance for various jurisdictions.
