About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to support the tax function at our head office based in Canada with subsidiaries worldwide. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience of corporate tax obligations who is a team player who contributes to improving the performance of the tax team. Reporting to the Tax Director, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing evolution of the company's international structure and ensuring compliance with all direct and indirect tax requirements in multiple countries.

Requirements

  • Extensive corporate tax knowledge, including international taxation
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations
  • Familiarity with Canadian federal and provincial local reporting requirements
  • Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
  • Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members
  • Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • We are looking for a candidate with 2+ years of related experience
  • Proficient with the following software/tools: Word, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft D365

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPA license and an MTax/In-Depth designation (or under completion)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing a strategic tax planning for the corporate group
  • Facilitating and managing the preparation and review of all direct and indirect tax compliance, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all tax forms
  • Finding and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
  • Preparing components of the company's income tax return and other tax documents
  • Planning for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team
  • Maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
  • Facilitating income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
  • Providing support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
