About The Position

The US Sr Tax Analyst is responsible for aspects of US indirect and direct taxes for the Americas Regional Headquarter. This includes support with US Federal, about 30 US State Taxes as well as plant specific property taxes, R&D tax credits and oversight of Americas Transfer Pricing aspects. This position needs to ensure that US and Canada income tax compliance, tax provision, audit defense, and strategic tax matters are properly managed and executed. The role is an integral part of the Americas tax team and function as the backup and potential successor for the Americas regional tax director. This role shall ideally be based out of League City, TX in order to connect with the regional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience
  • Public accounting experience with manufacturing company clients.
  • Strong experience in corporate income, excise and franchise tax, including BEAT, GILTI and subpart F
  • Experience in/exposure to US transfer pricing and tax audit defense
  • Experience preparing analyses of data and support for tax matters and presenting findings and challenges for evaluation.
  • Excellent technical understanding of US Federal and state income tax
  • Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneSource Tax Provision Software
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS GAAP
  • Proactive and a strong team player who promotes teamwork throughout the organization
  • Ability to set priorities, well-organized, able to work to strict deadlines with a good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills; sees the big picture without losing eye for details
  • Able to manage complexity and can cope with workload peaks
  • Understands cross-functional/ cross-regional framework and business
  • Strong business and financial acumen

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all US sales and use tax compliance, property tax compliance including property tax audits and optimizations.
  • Support the US Federal and state tax compliance, i.e., for ensuring that all aspects of US income, franchise and excise taxation are technically correct, performed on time and generate the best results for the Company.
  • Ensures all income tax payments are calculated accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Manages various tax audits (Sales and use tax, property tax, but supports also federal and state income taxes).
  • Timely tracks tax law developments on US federal, state and regional Americas level, implements required changes, and gives updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with all business process changes.
  • Ensures SAP and other IT tools are compliant with US Federal and state tax laws.
  • Mitigates tax risks by timely taking actions and communicates with the tax office to prevent conflicts.
  • Works closely with Finance team to ensure statutory audits are correct from a tax accounting perspective (ASC 740).
  • Advises all levels of management on tax matters from daily operations to complex projects.
  • Maintains compliance with state and local property tax laws and filing deadlines.
  • Coordinates with internal departments to gather asset and valuation property tax information.
  • Reviews property tax assessments for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Serves as a backup for the US tax team.
