About The Position

Chemours is seeking a U.S. Tax Operations Senior Tax Analyst. This position will be available at the Wilmington, DE Headquarters (HYBRID) and report directly to the U.S. Tax Operations Manager. The U.S. Tax Operations Senior Tax Analyst supports the Company's U.S. income tax accounting and compliance activities. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, assisting with federal, state, and local income tax compliance, and supporting tax audits and controversy matters. The U.S. Tax Operations Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with members of the tax, accounting, finance, treasury, and legal teams, as well as external tax service providers, to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting and compliance. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of tax accounting, compliance, and operational tax matters within a complex multinational environment. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented tax professional with strong analytical skills, a foundational understanding of ASC 740 and corporate income tax compliance, and a desire to continue developing technical tax expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
  • 3+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax principles.
  • Basic understanding of ASC 740 income tax accounting concepts.
  • Experience preparing or supporting corporate income tax returns and related compliance processes.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a publicly traded or multinational organization.
  • Experience with corporate income tax provision processes and return-to-provision analyses.
  • Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Income Tax, SAP, and/or OneStream.
  • Experience supporting tax audits and responding to tax authority inquiries.
  • Exposure to tax technology, automation, or data analytics tools such as Alteryx or Power BI.
  • Combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual U.S. income tax provision calculations and supporting workpapers in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Prepare current and deferred tax analyses, tax account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze permanent and temporary differences impacting the Company's effective tax rate.
  • Assist in the preparation of return-to-provision calculations and tax account reconciliations.
  • Support FIN 48 analyses and documentation related to uncertain tax positions.
  • Assist with tax forecasting, annual budgeting, and cash tax projections.
  • Research and monitor tax law changes and assist in evaluating their impact on tax accounting and reporting positions.
  • Support quarterly and annual external audit requests related to income taxes.
  • Prepare and/or review, timely filing of U.S. federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns in coordination with external service providers.
  • Prepare and review tax data packages and supporting schedules used in return preparation.
  • Support tax basis balance sheet and return-to-provision processes.
  • Assist with estimated tax payments, extensions, and other income tax compliance requirements.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and track filing requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor state filing requirements and support nexus and filing analyses.
  • Prepare and/or review tax return workpapers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide data and analysis to support tax planning and business initiatives.
  • Support IRS and state income tax audits by gathering information and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Respond to Information Document Requests (IDRs), notices, and tax authority correspondence.
  • Maintain audit tracking schedules and documentation files.
  • Assist with technical research and preparation of audit defense materials.
  • Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders during audit examinations.
  • Monitor statute of limitation schedules and maintain controversy-related records.
  • Support tax compliance requirements associated with legal entity changes, reorganizations, and other corporate initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining tax accounting and compliance controls supporting SOX requirements.
  • Prepare and retain documentation supporting key tax controls and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax processes.
  • Support implementation and optimization of tax technology and compliance tools.
  • Maintain tax process documentation and procedural guides.
  • Participate in tax automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, treasury, legal, and business teams to gather information and support tax reporting requirements.
  • Assist with cash tax forecasting and tax payment processes.
  • Coordinate with members of the International Tax, Transfer Pricing, and Tax Accounting teams on cross-functional tax matters.
  • Work effectively with external tax advisors and compliance service providers.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare written analyses on technical tax matters.
  • Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
