Senior Tax Accountant / CPA

Trueline•Louisville, KY

About The Position

Trueline is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to prepare individual income tax returns, provide tax planning, and build lasting client relationships within an established boutique tax practice. The position offers hands-on work and ownership of deadlines on a small team. Experienced CPAs interested in future practice leadership are encouraged to apply, as are Enrolled Agents and tax accountants seeking continued technical growth. The role includes preparing federal and state individual returns, managing client workloads and deadlines, communicating directly with clients, and supporting coordinated tax and financial planning with wealth management professionals. Depending on experience, the accountant may also prepare partnership, S-corporation, and trust returns, review returns, improve processes, and eventually take on mentoring, advisory, or practice leadership responsibilities. The position is based with a Louisville team and requires office attendance as needed. Additional hours are expected during tax season, generally around 50 hours per week, with some peak weeks approaching 60. Scheduling and office expectations will be discussed during the interview process. Compensation will reflect experience and responsibilities; salary structure, performance incentives, and benefits will be discussed during the interview process. Potential long-term practice leadership and ownership discussions may be available to the right CPA, subject to a future agreement.
