About The Position

HIROTEC America is a global industry leader with worldwide sales exceeding 1.5 billion dollars and 29 facilities in 8 countries. The company is committed to continuous improvement and growth. Currently, they are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join their team. This role is responsible for overall corporate taxation filings, including the preparation of annual federal, state, payroll, and benefit tax returns, as well as quarterly tax estimates and payroll tax filings. The position involves assisting in maintaining a tax calendar to track due dates, evaluating book-to-tax differences for fixed assets, and computing federal and state tax asset depreciation reports using software. The Senior Tax Accountant will also be responsible for preparing the company's tax provision and related disclosures, researching inquiries from government agencies, and developing in-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations. Additionally, the role includes assisting in the calculation and review of payroll-related tax issues and undertaking other duties and special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree focusing in Tax and/or Accounting
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong understanding of corporate and tax accounting principles
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements for efficient and effective tax compliance, reporting and planning
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of the R&D Tax Credit, Domestic Production Activities Deduction, Foreign Reporting (Form 5471/5472), Foreign Tax Credit, and payroll taxes preferred
  • Experience with a variety of accounting and tax software packages (i.e. Solomon, ProSystem fx Tax Software, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the annual federal, state, payroll and benefit tax returns
  • Preparation of quarterly tax estimates and payroll tax filings
  • Assist in maintaining tax calendar to effectively track statutory and internal due dates for all tax filings
  • Evaluate book to tax differences related to fixed assets
  • Utilize software to compute federal and state tax asset depreciation reports
  • Preparing the Company’s tax provision and related disclosures
  • Research inquiries from government agencies regarding filings, compliance, and other claims
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws, regulations, and current tax developments
  • Assist in calculation and review of payroll related tax issues
  • Other duties and special projects as requested
