About The Position

Cara Veterinary is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner – DVM Recruiting to lead their DVM recruiting strategy, develop a robust pipeline of veterinary talent, and ensure their hospitals have the necessary DVM capacity for growth. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and engaging with veterinary talent, understanding that future needs may not align with current job searches. This position is based out of the Cara Support Center in Seattle, WA, and involves a mix of office work, hospital visits, candidate meetings, and travel to recruiting events and conferences.

Requirements

  • Significant full-cycle recruiting, talent acquisition, executive search, or professional recruiting experience.
  • Proven success in proactively sourcing and closing hard-to-find talent in competitive markets.
  • Strong passive candidate sourcing and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term talent pipelines.
  • Strong closing, negotiation, and candidate management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple searches and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in using recruiting data to measure results and inform strategy.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary recruiting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare, physician, dental, executive, or other specialized professional recruiting experience may also translate well.
  • An established veterinary talent network is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own DVM recruiting and build a sustainable DVM talent pipeline across Cara.
  • Manage full-cycle DVM recruiting, from proactive sourcing to offer acceptance.
  • Cultivate relationships with both active and passive DVM candidates.
  • Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects for future hiring needs.
  • Collaborate with Medical Leadership, Operations, Hospital Leaders, and the People Team to forecast DVM capacity requirements.
  • Develop connections with veterinary schools, students, externs, and other potential talent sources.
  • Represent Cara at industry events, career fairs, universities, and networking functions.
  • Provide market intelligence on compensation trends, candidate expectations, competitive activities, and recruiting challenges.
  • Utilize recruiting data to track pipeline health, candidate conversion, time to fill, and DVM capacity.
  • Support other priority searches across Cara as needed, based on enterprise needs and capacity.
