Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Senior Systemwide Electrical Engineer to join their North American Infrastructure group in the Rail Systems team in Seattle, WA. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical system design
  • PE registration in the State of Washington (or the ability to obtain registration within six months)
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes
  • Experience in developing plans, specifications, calculations, technical memorandums, and estimates for projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems design
  • Microgrid systems design, such as power generators, PV solar systems, battery storage systems
  • Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
  • Industrial facility distribution
  • High voltage systems
  • Control systems design
  • Experience in the electrical trade
  • Transit facility systems design
  • Working with electrical utilities
  • Experience in power systems analysis, such as load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and protective relay coordination
  • Familiarity of power systems analysis software like ETAP, Power Factory, or similar applications
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar drafting programs

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and design low and medium voltage distribution systems for industrial facilities, transit facilities and stations, electric vehicle charging stations and microgrid applications.
  • Develop plans, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, technical studies, reports, and memorandums.
  • Visit project sites and customer facilities for meetings, data collection and planning.
  • Coordinate with electric utilities for permitting and electric services.
  • Coordinate with other engineers and architects.
  • Meet and communicate with clients, team members, and management.
