About The Position

This role is responsible for managing customer contracts through preventative maintenance, documentation, and on-site support. The engineer will ensure customer systems are up-to-date with the latest software, quick fixes, and hardware, and will prepare and deliver upgrade plans. The position involves following Global Service technical procedures, providing technical review of orders and proposals, analyzing technical risks for expansion projects and upgrades, and attending technical training on systems, instruments, applications, process control, communication, and safety. The role also includes supporting Sales as directed by the Regional Service Manager to secure orders and service agreements, understanding and enforcing Schneider Electric's contractual obligations on major projects, managing overall technical responsibilities for projects including specification, functionality, testing, and commissioning, performing system testing and factory acceptance testing (FAT), developing test documents, obtaining customer approval for documentation, and coordinating with the factory to resolve product-related issues.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented, forward looking and good leadership abilities
  • Innovative and dynamic with effective communication skills, especially in inter-cultural aspects
  • 70% travel a couple days away from home and otherwise just travel to customer sites within UT, ND and WY.
  • A recognized Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science or Process Control (desirable)
  • 5 + years of experience with Triconex systems and Foxboro Industrial Automation DCS
  • Ability to install hardware and software, perform configuration, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Familiar with the products and services within the Oil & Gas, Power Generation and Chemical industry
  • Knowledge of HMI (Human Machine Interface) software, DCS (Distributed Control Systems) system and field instrumentation
  • Knowledge of Foxboro and Wonderware
  • Microsoft Office, Windows Operating Systems, Unix, DCS, Safety Systems, PLC’s, Communication protocols, Networking and System Security

Responsibilities

  • Manage customer contracts by performing preventative maintenance visits, documenting / delivering reports and providing on-site remedial support.
  • Ensure that the customer’s system is updated to the latest software, quick fixes, and hardware.
  • Prepare upgrade plans for the customer’s systems and deliver them to the customer.
  • Follow all technical procedures and tools for Global Service.
  • Provide technical review of orders for clients and any other proposals requested to perform.
  • Analyze technical risks of expansion projects and upgrades.
  • Attend technical training that includes systems and instruments, application, process control, communication, and safety.
  • Support Sales as required and directed by Regional Service Manager to secure orders and service agreements.
  • Understand and enforce Schneider Electric contractual obligations on major projects and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manages overall technical responsibilities for one or more projects, including project specification, functionality, testing and commissioning.
  • Perform system testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and develop test documents.
  • Document preparation and obtain customer's approval per document specification and schedule.
  • Coordinate with factory for product related issues and resolve.
