About The Position

Allied Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Systems / Server Administrator to play a key role within a high-impact technical services team. The role involves supporting the client's current environment and technology upgrades as they complete the planning and implementation of their Legacy Modernization project. The client has assessed their current systems and is in the process of upgrading and improving them. This is a position within a small information resources environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 Years of experience supporting Microsoft Operating Systems environments as an IT Systems / Server Administrator.
  • 8 Years of experience in the implementation and support of Active Directory Domains, Dell Storage Solutions, VMware environments, Exchange, M365 environments, backup solutions.
  • 8 Years of experience communicating and providing direct technical support to agency Business units and Stakeholders.
  • 8 Years of extensive experience providing all aspects of configuration and end user support for Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • 8 Years of experience Managing user accounts and network configurations as required to provide services to meet the business and technical requirements.
  • 5 Years of experience in the implementation of required security parameters to meet the requirements of the agency security policies.
  • 5 Years of experience completing assessments to develop strategic recommendations and roadmaps.
  • Strong background in providing technical support to Microsoft Windows Enterprise Systems Environments.
  • Experience working in concert with others for co-managing Microsoft Windows Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Some experience with analyzing and problem-solving network administration subjects of firewalls, firewall management systems, SIEMs, switches, network licensing.
  • Strong background in working within the Microsoft environment for work communications and workflow: Microsoft File Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience providing basic to complex helpdesk support intermittently while doing server administrator work.
  • Candidates selected for interviews will be subject to a criminal background check and may be required to pass a drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 Years of experience documenting support requirements and procedures.
  • 3 Years of previous experience providing IT desktop support to end users in state public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support client’s current environment and technology upgrades as client completes the planning and implementation of their Legacy Modernization project.
  • Provide technical support to Microsoft Windows Enterprise Systems Environments, including on-premises physical server hosts, virtual devices (domain controllers, file servers, Exchange servers, application servers, print servers, content management servers), storage solutions, backup solutions, and security certificate management.
  • Co-manage Microsoft Windows Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Analyze and problem-solve network administration subjects including firewalls, firewall management systems, SIEMs, switches, and network licensing.
  • Work within the Microsoft environment for work communications and workflow using Microsoft File Explorer, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Provide basic to complex helpdesk support intermittently while performing server administrator duties.
  • Work with other staff members on the client's Information Resources (IR) team to provide information technology services.
  • Monitor, maintain, and update physical server hosts, virtual server environments, and virtual storage solutions.
  • Monitor the backup solution.
  • Implement required security parameters and requirements within the Windows server environment.
  • Assist in the development of documentation related to technical support responsibilities and support procedures.
  • Manage system and user account administration for server licensing, solutions, and software applications.
  • Provide identity and access management (IAM) for on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Initialize new PC and laptops for deployment, updating PC and laptop OS, firmware, and apps.
  • Assist with user account issues, password issues, permissions issues, VPN access, printer assistance, wi-fi issues, and boardroom audio.
  • Assist with migrating the Exchange solution to the M365 cloud environment and deploy O365.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory user accounts and permissions.
  • Perform Microsoft Active Directory analysis and restructure.
  • Plan and perform duties related to upgrading and supporting the Active Directory Domain environment.
  • Assist with help-desk requests to agency staff.
  • Support the email encryption solution, including SaaS email filtering solutions.
  • Perform SaaS system and account administration duties.
  • Assist in providing network administration and support, including local switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
  • Support secure external and internal access to systems for collaboration.
