About The Position

The Systems Integration Analyst is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for analyzing, implementing, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise system integrations and related technology initiatives. The role provides Bank-side technical ownership of data flows, APIs, file-based interfaces, mappings, transformations, secure data delivery, validation, reconciliation, and production readiness. The analyst works directly with internal teams and external partners to trace issues end to end, automate repeatable validation where appropriate, and drive assigned technical workstreams to completion. The initial major assignment is the Bank’s phased AML platform replacement across Fintech and Core Banking; afterward, the role will support integration initiatives across the Bank. The position is in Oak Brook, Illinois.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in systems integration, technical data analysis, application delivery, systems analysis, or related technology roles.
  • Experience independently leading technical workstreams in multi-system or multi-provider implementations is required.
  • Strong proficiency in hands-on systems integration: Experience implementing, testing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise integrations using REST APIs, file-based interfaces, databases, middleware, and/or ETL/data pipelines. Must be able to interpret specifications, payloads, file layouts, schemas, mappings, logs, and errors and validate end-to-end processing.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in integration troubleshooting: Ability to trace data across source systems, integration layers, APIs/files, and target applications; isolate failures to data, mapping/transformation, connectivity/authentication, middleware, or target systems; and drive corrective action through resolution.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL and data reconciliation: Ability to write SQL using joins, aggregations, CASE expressions, subqueries, and common table expressions; profile data; compare source and target datasets; identify duplicates or anomalies; and reconcile record counts and monetary values.
  • Strong proficiency in data mapping and validation: Ability to understand data structures and business meaning, map fields and relationships, validate transformations, and trace data issues from source through downstream platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in integration design and operations: Ability to document end-to-end integration flows, dependencies, batch and real-time processing, controls, error/retry handling, reconciliation, monitoring, and support requirements.
  • Working hands-on proficiency with APIs: Ability to interpret REST API specifications; inspect and validate JSON payloads; understand HTTP methods/status codes, OAuth 2.0, API keys, certificates, pagination, rate limits, and error handling; and execute test calls using an API-testing tool.
  • Strong proficiency with file-based integrations: Experience with CSV, delimited/fixed-width files, JSON/XML, SFTP, object storage or secure upload, scheduling, authentication, header/trailer controls, control totals, monitoring, error files, retry/reprocessing, and exception handling.
  • Intermediate proficiency in ETL/ELT, pipelines, and scripting: Working knowledge of extraction, transformation, loading, scheduling, reprocessing, data lineage, and pipeline monitoring. Ability to use scripting or automation to create or validate extracts, parse files or payloads, compare datasets, and automate repeatable checks is required.
  • Strong proficiency in testing: Ability to develop and execute integration, data-validation, negative, regression, end-to-end, and production-validation tests; support user acceptance testing; and document defects through closure.
  • Working proficiency in spreadsheet analysis: Ability to use pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, filtering, comparison, and data-transformation features for validation and reconciliation.
  • Strong proficiency in technical project delivery: Experience managing technical workstreams, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, defects, external partners, and status reporting.
  • Ability to manage external partners: Ability to review technical deliverables, challenge assumptions, clarify responsibilities, coordinate issue resolution, and hold providers accountable for agreed outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders and produce clear requirements, mappings, diagrams, test evidence, decisions, and status updates.
  • BS degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on development in a specific ETL platform is beneficial but not required.
  • Banking or financial-services experience, especially with transaction-intensive platforms such as core banking, payments, fintech, AML/fraud, or regulatory technology.
  • Working knowledge of cloud environments, SaaS architectures, identity/access, secure connectivity, storage, and cloud integration patterns.
  • Experience with integration patterns and technologies such as ETL/ELT platforms, integration-platform-as-a-service, API gateways, webhooks, and queues/messaging; specific product expertise is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned integration workstreams and develop a clear understanding of source systems, target platforms, interfaces, dependencies, and end-to-end data flows.
  • Analyze integration designs and requirements, including APIs, file-based interfaces, schemas, transformations, authentication/connectivity, secure data delivery, processing schedules, controls, logging, error handling, retry/reprocessing, and monitoring.
  • Analyze and map customer, account, transaction, payment, operational, and other data required for integrations; perform data profiling, source-to-target mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Use SQL, scripting, and related tools to compare source and target data, validate record counts and financial totals, identify missing, duplicate, or invalid records, confirm transformations, and automate repeatable validation and reconciliation checks.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to define, document, and validate interface requirements, clarify ownership, and coordinate technical dependencies and implementation activities.
  • Review and challenge technical specifications, mappings, interface designs, assumptions, and deliverables; identify gaps and ensure material issues are resolved before production.
  • Translate business, operational, and regulatory needs into technical, data, integration, and testing requirements; coordinate across business, technology, security, operations, Risk/Compliance, and external providers.
  • Develop and execute integration and data-validation tests and support end-to-end, regression, parallel, user acceptance, and production validation.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures and data-quality issues end to end by inspecting payloads, files, logs, errors, mappings, and reconciliation results; identify root cause and drive resolution and retesting.
  • Manage assigned technical workstreams by tracking milestones, risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, decisions, defects, readiness, and status; follow actions through closure and escalate material risks or delays.
  • Support cutover, stabilization, and transition to ongoing support, including job/interface monitoring, failed processing, retry/reprocessing, reconciliation, incident management, escalation, and knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including data-flow diagrams, interface inventories, source-to-target mappings, data lineage, reconciliation procedures, test evidence, implementation decisions, and support procedures.
  • Apply reusable integration, testing, and production-readiness practices across Bank initiatives and onboard new data feeds or interfaces by defining requirements, validating exchanges, reconciling results, and establishing monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary Bank-side technical resource for the phased implementation of the new AML platform across Fintech and Core Banking.
  • Understand the customer, account, ownership, transaction, and payment data required by the AML platform, including source systems, business meaning, relationships, and processing characteristics.
  • Define and validate feed scope, source-to-target mappings, transaction-code classifications, customer/account relationships, APIs/files, transformation rules, and integration dependencies.
  • Trace representative records end to end from source systems through integration layers to the AML platform; validate payloads/files, control totals, rejected records, and error handling, and investigate delivery, mapping, or transformation failures.
  • Perform SQL- and script-based reconciliation between source systems and the AML platform to identify missing, duplicate, incomplete, or incorrectly mapped/transformed data and drive issues to resolution.
  • Support historical data migration and establish repeatable controls for data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate integration testing, parallel validation, cutover readiness, production verification, and defect resolution for each phase.
