The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Tucson, AZ location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems Engineering lifecycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for technical rigor of requirements documents, coordination across teams, sharing program process knowledge, mentoring engineers, and working with the technical and program leads to execute program tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, requirements management, providing SE oversight during integration and test activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus with the possibility of occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • A self-starter who can take on tasks with limited guidance and potentially lead a team of engineers.
  • Experience in the defense industry specifically with military systems and procedures.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering product cycle.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification.
  • Experience with generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, test procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience in developing and managing system requirements.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and associated tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, and Cameo.
  • Experience with data analysis and presenting analytical and technical material.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Update, maintain, and improve requirements.
  • Develop system architecture and model using Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations.
  • Collaborate with engineers of all disciplines.
  • Perform test planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing.
  • Integrate Systems: Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Evaluate test results for requirements compliance.
  • Create/ modify documentation in support of design reviews and in preparation for test events.
  • Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Perform data analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Support missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
