The Systems Engineer Senior is responsible for designing, configuring, installing, and supporting complex clinical device or other ancillary device integration solutions. This role assists with conversion and operational support planning, manages multiple simultaneous projects, and ensures adherence to change management processes. The Senior Systems Engineer also identifies how requirements and designs affect multiple application areas, recommends solutions, and acts independently to understand client business requirements and offer effective alternatives. They develop workstation and server administration procedures, design backup and recovery procedures, and assist in the design of disaster recovery and business continuance configurations. Additionally, this role ensures capacity monitoring processes are followed, monitors and tunes systems for optimal performance, and participates in quality assurance processes. The Senior Systems Engineer solves complex application software problems, performs root-cause analysis, and acts as an escalation point with vendors and staff. They also create tasks, direct resources, monitor progress, and communicate project status to clients. This role analyzes business requirements, creates technical requirements, and evaluates new and existing software products. They design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain complex application support software, and make complex modifications to purchased applications. Finally, they collaborate with vendors to resolve problems and manage escalations, and assist in the development of contract language and compliance monitoring.
