About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a focus on AWS to join our team. The role involves configuring, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring solutions, primarily using Dynatrace. You will be responsible for developing dashboards, alerts, and health checks, as well as monitoring infrastructure, systems, and applications to ensure optimal performance and availability. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various technical teams. You will play a key role in incident response, root cause analysis, and recommending improvements to monitoring strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or monitoring roles.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace or similar APM/monitoring tools.
• Experience monitoring Windows and Linux servers.
• Experience with virtualized environments such as VMware.
• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Proactive mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret system performance metrics and monitoring data effectively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Nice To Haves

• Experience configuring and optimizing Dynatrace dashboards, alerts, and health checks.
• Experience monitoring databases, middleware, and network components.
• Experience supporting synthetic and real user monitoring.
• Experience participating in incident response and root cause analysis.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or container monitoring.
• Experience in regulated industries.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and optimize monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and performance health checks.
• Monitor infrastructure, systems, and applications to ensure performance and availability.
• Define and adjust alert thresholds to minimize false positives.
• Partner with infrastructure and cloud teams to analyze performance trends and capacity planning needs.
• Utilize monitoring tools to track application performance and transaction flows.
• Support troubleshooting efforts by providing monitoring insights during incidents.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and identify monitoring gaps.
• Recommend improvements to monitoring standards, documentation, and alerting strategies.
• Support integration of monitoring tools with IT service management platforms.
