About The Position

As a Senior Systems Administrator at Fortress, you can expect to work with the IT Manager and VP of IT with internal projects and system maintenance. In the role of a Systems Administrator, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing our company's IT infrastructure, including both on-site and cloud-based systems. You will leverage your advanced knowledge of Microsoft administrative environments and familiarity with firewalls, hypervisors, and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services to plan, implement, and manage system architectures. Your daily responsibilities will involve networking configuration, system automation using languages such as Python and PowerShell, and detailed documentation of key processes and operations. Your aptitude for breaking down complex technical issues and explaining them to a diverse audience, including end-users, management, and executives, will be critical in this role. You will also tackle challenging projects and organize tasks to ensure timely completion, collaborate with other departments to boost company performance, and handle Tier 3 escalations for internal issues. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to other IT duties as assigned. You will be most successful in this role if you have experience operating in small to mid-sized or high-growth environments where you’ve had broad ownership across systems and infrastructure. Candidates who have supported organizations through periods of growth or transition—particularly from on-premises to cloud environments—will be especially well-positioned to succeed.
