About The Position

NVIDIA is seeking a creative, highly motivated, and independent engineer with system software expertise and a security background to join its SOC System Software organization. The role supports SoC-based product lines, including autonomous vehicles, robotics, consumer graphics, and edge AI. The engineer will lead HDCP activities across SoC projects, develop secure-engine firmware for a RISC-V-based secure processor, deliver HDCP solutions across software stacks and platforms, and serve as the team's security primary contact. The position involves close collaboration with hardware design, boot firmware, power management, validation, and GPU display teams to align architecture and delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in embedded systems, firmware, or system software development.
  • Strong RISC-V or embedded processor firmware development experience, including privilege-level isolation and secure boot.
  • Deep understanding of cryptography and security protocols, particularly HDCP 1.x/2.x authentication, key management, and repeater topology.
  • Strong familiarity with how HDCP integrates with display protocols such as HDMI and DisplayPort.
  • Consistent record of leading cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through certification and delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with HDCP compliance certification.
  • Experience with SoC-level system integration, including firewalls, fuse controllers, privilege isolation, and secure carveouts.
  • Experience productizing DRM protocols such as Widevine or PlayReady.
  • Familiarity with automotive security standards such as ISO 21434 and UN R155.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HDCP activities across SoC-based projects, including the feature roadmap, protocol implementation, compliance certification, and delivery across chips, platforms, and products.
  • Develop and maintain secure-engine firmware on a RISC-V-based secure processor.
  • Deliver end-to-end HDCP solutions across software stacks spanning Linux, Android for automotive, and consumer platforms.
  • Drive firmware production-signing readiness, rollback-prevention strategies, and key-provisioning workflows.
  • Serve as the team's security primary contact, leading threat modeling, static analysis, vulnerability tracking and remediation, and security compliance across projects.
  • Collaborate with hardware design, boot firmware, power management, validation, and GPU display teams on architecture and delivery.
