About The Position

The Senior System Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and supporting our Information Technology infrastructure. They work closely with various cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system performance, security and reliability, contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations. This role is generally independent and collaborative in nature, contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project. It is a full-time role with on-site and hybrid opportunities available.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in IT (system, network, or database administration)
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, or MacOS
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (Intune, JAMF, Ansible, etc)
  • Working knowledge of virtualization and containers (VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) i.e. Terraform, etc.
  • Knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Must be able to come into the office as needed

Nice To Haves

  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Administering, installing, and troubleshooting a variety of operating systems
  • Performing systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance
  • Scheduling, installing, and testing system software upgrades
  • Configuring software and resolving technical problems
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring the reliability and availability of critical services
  • Managing user accounts, permissions and access controls in accordance with security policies
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for system configurations, processes and procedures
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting
  • Providing mentorship to junior system administrators
  • Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance system performance
  • Assisting in developing and enforcing IT policies and procedures
