•$130,000 - $165,000

About The Position

K2 Space is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Operations Engineer to design, model, and optimize supply-chain data, metrics, and analytics. The role serves as the subject matter expert in supply-chain analytics and hardware inventory best practices, building data-driven processes that provide the accuracy and visibility needed to meet program build targets. The engineer works across procurement, operations, finance, engineering, and external partners to support hardware delivery against cost, schedule, and quality targets for company-critical missions. The position focuses on developing supply-chain dashboards and measurement frameworks, validating data across enterprise and manufacturing systems, and analyzing logistics networks and inventory policies. It also provides analytical support for supplier negotiations, sourcing decisions, and broader operational decisions. The role requires hands-on data work and the ability to communicate analysis clearly in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in supply-chain engineering, supply-chain analytics, or operations in a hardware or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience pulling, cleaning, and analyzing data from ERP, MRP, and MES systems.
  • Experience using SQL, Python, and Excel, and at least one data visualization tool such as Tableau or Power BI for data analysis or project scheduling.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, including min/max levels, reorder points, lead times, and BOM structures.
  • Experience defining KPIs and building dashboards or scorecards used by leadership to make decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of finding and fixing data-accuracy problems across systems.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain complex analysis to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with high ownership and little structure.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license, because the role involves access to items and information controlled by U.S. export regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, data analytics, or mathematics.
  • Experience at a startup or fast-growing company where tools and processes were built from scratch.
  • Experience using Python for automation or modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards using ERP, MRP, and MES data to provide real-time visibility into inventory, material flow, supplier performance, and other supply-chain KPIs.
  • Build a supply-chain metrics framework that defines success, connects measures to company and program goals, and establishes clear metric ownership.
  • Audit and validate data across ERP, MRP, WMS, and PLM systems to ensure part masters, BOMs, lead times, costs, and inventory records are accurate and consistent.
  • Model material movement between warehouses, stocking locations, and production sites to improve flow, transit time, and handling cost.
  • Identify bottlenecks, redundant moves, and capacity limits in the logistics network and propose process improvements.
  • Regularly review and adjust inventory parameters, including min/max levels, as demand, supply risk, or program needs change.
  • Work with procurement and supplier development engineering teams to develop data-driven cost insights for supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions.
  • Serve as an analytical partner to procurement, operations, finance, and engineering on supply-chain decisions.

Benefits

  • Equity in the company.
  • Paid time off.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
