Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment or an Associate's Degree and 7 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment
In absence of a degree, High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
Understanding of internal and external customer expectations/requirements to resolving findings
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a supervisory/team lead capacity
Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and concepts
SAP user experience

Responsibilities

Oversee daily forging operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
Supervise and coordinate forge team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management; address employee concerns, enforce policies, and maintain a positive team environment
Monitor equipment (presses, furnaces) to ensure proper operation and coordinate with maintenance for repairs
Enforce safety protocols, PPE compliance, and safe handling of high-temperature materials and heavy equipment; ensure adherence to work instructions, process specifications, and quality standards
Identify and troubleshoot forging defects (e.g., underfill, cracks, laps) and implement corrective actions; collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues
Track production metrics, downtime, and efficiency; report on KPIs to management; train and develop operators on forging techniques, equipment use, and standard work
Manage material flow, including billet handling, heating cycles, and finished part movement; support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, cycle time improvement)
Maintain documentation, shift reports, and production records; coordinate shift handoffs to ensure continuity of operations
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
