Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment or an Associate's Degree and 7 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related environment
  • In absence of a degree, High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, quality or related industrial environment
  • Understanding of internal and external customer expectations/requirements to resolving findings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a supervisory/team lead capacity
  • Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing tools and concepts
  • SAP user experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily forging operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met
  • Supervise and coordinate forge team members, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance management; address employee concerns, enforce policies, and maintain a positive team environment
  • Monitor equipment (presses, furnaces) to ensure proper operation and coordinate with maintenance for repairs
  • Enforce safety protocols, PPE compliance, and safe handling of high-temperature materials and heavy equipment; ensure adherence to work instructions, process specifications, and quality standards
  • Identify and troubleshoot forging defects (e.g., underfill, cracks, laps) and implement corrective actions; collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues
  • Track production metrics, downtime, and efficiency; report on KPIs to management; train and develop operators on forging techniques, equipment use, and standard work
  • Manage material flow, including billet handling, heating cycles, and finished part movement; support continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, waste reduction, cycle time improvement)
  • Maintain documentation, shift reports, and production records; coordinate shift handoffs to ensure continuity of operations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
