Senior Substation P&C Technologist

Mesa presently has an opportunity for a Substation Physical Technologist. This role provides an excellent opportunity to excel with innovative ideas and creative problem solving. Mesa is seeking an experienced (8 to 14 years) Bachelor of Science degreed individual for a position in Power Substation Protection and Control (P&C) Design. The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. In addition to relevant experience, a BS-degree is required. The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for P&C design of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 34.5K to 500kV (765kV experience would be considered a plus). As a Senior Technologist, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of P&C Substation design and able to thoroughly develop P&C design project packages with adherence to standards and for constructability of design. Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk ACADE would be considered a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required. This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing within the Knoxville, TN area.
Requirements
- A BS Degree from an established/recognized university (required)
- 8 - 14 years of experience working in the power utility industry
- Extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry
- Skilled in all aspects of P&C Substation design and able to thoroughly develop P&C design project packages with adherence to standards and for constructability of design.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required.
Nice To Haves
- 765kV experience would be considered a plus
- Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk ACADE would be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform P&C Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality)
- Work well as a team member as well as individually
- Use MicroStation to create the assigned deliverables
- Interact with the Customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements
- Mentor junior Engineers/Designers
- Review work of other team members
- Perform work safely.
