About The Position

The Senior Student Associate will intern with the Photography Archives at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Photography Archives. The primary work is processing archival collections and answering reference questions. The intern will be trained to create archival-quality digital files for EAD finding aids and add them to an existing database with appropriate metadata. Additional training in preservation, arrangement, description, and creating finding aids for archival collections—primarily or exclusively photographic materials, including born-digital materials—will be provided as time permits. The intern may also participate in special projects, such as web exhibits, and learn other aspects of archival work as opportunities arise. This is a temporary student position expected to continue through May 31, 2027, and is employed on a semester-by-semester basis.
