About The Position

This senior engineering position is based on a hybrid work schedule, with in-office work three days per week at Sargent & Lundy’s Peachtree Corners, Georgia office. The role offers opportunities to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design; collaborate with engineers across disciplines; and guide less experienced project team members. The engineer will work on a wide range of projects for various clients, preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and supporting designers with drawing development. Using structural engineering software, the role includes analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations, including analyses for wind and seismic loading. Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification may be required. Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group works on nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, including small modular reactors, advanced reactor technology, reactor restart projects, existing plant life extensions and digital modernization, coal-to-nuclear conversion initiatives, and international nuclear new-build projects. The company describes its work as supporting clean, carbon-free energy and reducing emissions.
