About The Position

Pratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking a highly motivated Structures Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will perform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service. They will serve as the structural representative on multi-disciplinary integrated product teams, providing balanced design solutions that meet customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight. The role also involves supporting validation test activities (engine and rig), including live monitoring of instrumentation relative to limits, post-processing of test data, and evaluation against program requirements, as well as assisting with in-service field investigations. The candidate will conduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter, while applying classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance. Additionally, they will contribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods, document analysis results, and present findings to management and external customers. This role requires the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, combining onsite and remote workdays. Travel is up to 10%. English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
