About The Position

Pratt & Whitney's Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking a highly motivated Structures Engineer to join their team. This role involves performing structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout various stages of the product lifecycle, including preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service. The engineer will serve as the structural representative on multi-disciplinary integrated product teams, aiming to provide balanced design solutions that meet customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight. Responsibilities also include supporting validation test activities, assisting with in-service field investigations, conducting Finite Element Analysis using specified software, contributing to technology development and process improvement, and documenting/presenting analysis results. This role requires effective work in a hybrid environment and involves up to 10% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering
  • 2 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge on Externals and/or Mechanical Systems engine components
  • M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
  • Proficiency in Teamcenter, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis
  • Theoretical to advance knowledge on Structural engineering through degree and experience
