Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6 years of experience in Composite and Metallic analysis (static and fatigue), design engineering, and instrumentation engineering.
  • Computer Assisted Design (CATIA V5) and Finite Element (Abaqus) - model setup and analysis (static and fatigue) for composites.

  • Master’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 4 years of experience in Computer Assisted Design (CATIA V5) and Finite Element (Abaqus) - model setup and analysis (static and fatigue) for composites.
  • PhD Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience in Computer Assisted Design (CATIA V5) and Finite Element (Abaqus) - model setup and analysis (static and fatigue) for composites.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for airframe structural testing, including the fixtures design, the instrumentation design, and analysis predictions, which requires multi-disciplinary skills including structural design, structural analysis, materials engineering, and electrical engineering.
  • Perform trade studies, requirements derivation, and establish the overall vehicle configuration based on requirements.
  • Complete hand calculations and FEM analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
  • Develop company standards for model creation, strength checks, and analysis report generation.
  • Compile documentation of stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings and documents.
  • Work closely with and mentor designers and junior structural analysts in stress/stability/fracture analysis best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance on design concepts (risk vs. cost vs. performance).
  • Perform stress analysis of internal loads (FEM), static, fatigue, and/or damage tolerance to support program design, fabrication, testing, and/or structural integrity activities.
  • Support test execution and analyze test results to validate and verify that designs meet requirements and specifications.
  • Write detailed structural substantiation reports and other technical reports as required in order to obtain FAA airworthiness approvals.
