Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree or relevant work experience
  • 2-3 years media planning and buying experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Understanding of media planning terms and concepts such as GRPs, ROI, reach and frequency
  • Understanding of Geopath measurement methodology as well as various other available media research tools and studies
  • Proficiency working within Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • A strong, effective communicator
  • A problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • An effective time manager, comfortable working with multiple timelines and deliverables
  • Comfortable working within large sets of data and numbers

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present strategically focused plans and recommendations for OOH media.
  • Write department POVs on new opportunities and identify industry trends.
  • Manage OOH media plans from inception to completion, including issuing RFPs, negotiating buys, and providing supporting research and unit maps.
  • Collaborate with the Business Solutions Team to ensure plans align with strategy and client objectives.
  • Oversee the posting of media, traffic, and production processes for accurate and timely execution.
  • Participate in potential market rides.
  • Cross-check plans and supporting documents for accuracy (billing, specs, contracts).
  • Keep the team updated on the status and timing of deliverables.
  • Ensure client documents are clear, concise, and client-ready.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of account/client nuances.
  • Manage internal and external relationships, strengthening communication with the Business Solutions team and vendors.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of available vendors and media formats.
  • Attend vendor meetings and presentations.
  • Guide junior team members through the planning process and assist with account maintenance.
  • Manage ongoing communication with senior leads, relaying issues and status updates.
  • Stay up-to-date on the OOH space, trends, vendor updates, and offerings.
  • Advance knowledge of the media industry, Horizon Media, and clients.
  • Participate in Horizon’s training programs and other industry training sessions.
  • Participate in strategy development and brainstorming meetings.
  • Collaborate with OOH vendors on innovative ideas.
  • Educate the Business Solutions team on OOH status, processes, and developments.
  • Oversee the contracting process for approved media buys.
  • Oversee Assistant Strategist’s follow-up in collecting signed ATBs and counter-signed contracts.
  • Guide the team in setting goals, project tasks, and timelines.
  • Provide education on best practices, media principles, and the industry.
  • Participate in the interview process for Assistant/Planner roles.
