About The Position

The Senior Strategic Account Manager (SAM) represents all Zoetis Poultry products and services in Broiler accounts. The position is responsible for ensuring customer experience and satisfaction is maximized and for achieving annual gross revenue and margin targets within budgeted expense parameters, along with the management of new business growth and retention in assigned Key accounts. As a Senior Strategic Account Manager, this position coordinates the efforts of other Regional Account Managers, Vets, and technical support involved in the assigned Key Account to provide customer support in other territories. This position requires proficiency in the Broiler industry and product knowledge gained through experience in the Regional Accounts Manager role.

Requirements

  • Four year degree in Agricultural life science or agribusiness required
  • Experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
  • 10+ years in the Poultry Industry with working knowledge of poultry production.
  • 3 or more years of selling experience in large multi-location accounts required.
  • Significant Sales experience and strong relationship growth in large accounts
  • Strong working knowledge of Zoetis products and services.
  • Working knowledge of poultry production
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • PC literate with the proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (excel, word, powerpoint, project software)
  • Promotes teamwork and cooperation
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Must be regionally located in close proximity to Key decision-making team of Key Accounts.
  • All applicants must possess or obtain authorization to work in the US for Zoetis.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of selling experience in large multi-location accounts preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meets and exceeds all sales targets for both key accounts and territory accounts.
  • Coordinates and/or leads all Zoetis activities within assigned Key accounts.
  • Leads the development and maintains the account plan for assigned Key accounts.
  • Promotes and supports sales of all Zoetis products and services in assigned Key Accounts.
  • Provides selling solutions to Key Accounts.
  • Builds customer loyalty to Zoetis poultry products and services by developing relationships with key account decision makers and influencers.
  • Manages corporate and complex level communication to customers regarding Zoetis poultry products and services.
  • Initiates and maintains regular communication of customer requirements with internal Zoetis groups including Customer Service, Veterinary Services, Marketing, and product support teams.
  • Keeps management and team members informed of industry news, Key account news, sales objectives, accomplishments, and competitive information.
  • Provides feedback to assist in the development of marketing plans to Key Accounts.
  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management Tool (CRM) to manage key accounts, contacts and business.
  • Stays abreast of changes and future needs of assigned Key accounts and forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Continues to build and develop industry network to improve understanding of customer strategy and gain early awareness and involvement when applicable.
  • Assists in the development of colleagues.
