Overview: The Senior Steel Detailer will be responsible for leading the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications for complex steel fabrication projects. This senior-level position requires extensive experience in steel detailing and strong leadership abilities. The role involves managing a team of detailers, coordinating with engineers and project managers, and ensuring that all detailing work meets design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in steel detailing or a related role.
- Familiarity with Tekla software is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings and models.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of detailed drawings, models, and specifications according to project requirements.
- Utilize CAD software, specifically Tekla, to produce accurate and high-quality drawings and models.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all design outputs.
- Oversee the detailing process for complex projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
- Review and approve detailed drawings, models, and documentation to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure detailing work meets project requirements and deadlines.
- Establish and enforce rigorous quality control procedures and standards for all detailing activities.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of detailing work to identify and address any issues or deficiencies.
- Implement corrective actions and follow-up measures to ensure the highest quality standards are maintained.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of detailers, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand design concepts and requirements.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss detailing progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address design issues and provide technical guidance.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in steel detailing, materials, and construction techniques.
