Structural Steel Draftsman / Detailer
About The Position
Capital Professionals is representing a leader in the aggregate service industry that designs and erects new aggregate material handling systems. The Structural Steel Draftsman / Detailer will assist with new designs and expansions of existing systems. The company has more than 30 years of industry experience and facilities across the Southwest. The role involves interpreting rough sketches and engineering specifications, preparing precise scaled drawings that incorporate all required details and comply with applicable standards, and organizing and storing drawings. The position calls for proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD, understanding of construction and design principles and steel shapes, attention to detail, timely work, and the ability to learn and collaborate in a team environment.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of work experience using SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Excellent knowledge of and proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Ability to understand rough sketches.
- Good observation skills and attention to detail.
- Reasonable knowledge of construction and design principles and steel shapes.
- Ability to submit work on time.
- Ability to learn the basics of the drawings assigned.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Study rough sketches and interpret specifications provided by Engineering.
- Prepare precise drawings to scale and incorporate all required details.
- Prepare drawings according to applicable standards and terms.
- Store and organize required drawings.
