Senior Staff Software Engineer - UI, Go-To-Market (GTM)
About The Position
We are looking for a talented and passionate UI Engineer to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for building intuitive, high-performance, and visually delightful web applications. You’ll work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate complex ideas into seamless user experiences. As a Sr Staff Software Engineer to join our CPQ (Configure Price and Quote) team, you will serve as the recognized subject matter expert, bringing industry best practices to our architectural design. You will act as a technical leader, using first-principles thinking to dissect complex challenges and drive the development of company objectives. This is an in office role in our HQ, Santa Clara, CA three days/week.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or a Master's degree with 8 years of experience; or a PhD with 5 years of experience.
- Proven ability to design and develop scalable web applications, and integrations using microservices architecture
- Deep hands-on expertise with at least one modern UI framework (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
- Experience with state management tools (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand, Pinia, or similar).
- Experience working with design tools like Lovable, Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Familiarity with modern build tools and bundlers (e.g., Vite, Webpack), Git, and CI/CD workflows.
- Proficiency with modern JS testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright).
- Knowledge in CI/CD platforms including Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Spinnaker, Docker, or related tools.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical application in business insights
- Understanding of prompt engineering best practices and LLM security considerations (input validation, prompt injection prevention)
- Must be local to the SF Bay Area for onsite/hybrid work
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and practical experience implementing LLM-based insights.
- Experience architecting conversational AI platforms, chatbots, or Text-to-SQL systems
- Knowledge of multi-turn dialogue management and conversation history patterns
- Background in TypeScript/Node.js for AI agent development
- Experience building micro-frontends or working in monorepos.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance user interfaces using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
- Contribute to and expand our internal Design System and reusable component library.
- Identify and fix performance bottlenecks, optimize page load times, and ensure cross-browser compatibility.
- Lead the technical design and architecture of AI Led, Secure, Scalable CPQ Platform, owning the process from prototype through deployment
- Build and integrate foundational and agentic AI/ML workflows, ensuring the secure and effective use of GenAI technologies in our products.
- Expert at operating in an agile development environment; establish engineering standards and best practices
- Balance security debt, product stability, and features against a backdrop of go-to-market pressures and timelines
- Lead deep technical design reviews, perform high-impact code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
- Understanding of prompt engineering best practices and LLM security considerations (input validation, prompt injection prevention)
