About The Position

Google software engineers develop technologies that help billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. In this role, you will work on projects critical to Google’s needs and design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. You will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, and may work across the full stack as Google’s business evolves. The Workspace AI platform team seeks experienced senior individual contributors to bring advanced generative AI capabilities to Workspace products and deliver experiences for content creation, consumption, and collaboration. The work supports products including Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids, and Meet. The team’s opportunities include features such as precomputed email-thread summaries, meeting summaries, and videos created from documents using AI avatars. You will work with model builders at Google DeepMind and contribute to productivity tools intended to shape how people work in the future, with the potential to affect users worldwide.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing end-to-end machine learning, such as model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, or fine-tuning.
5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing or launching software products.
2 years of experience with generative AI techniques, such as LLMs, multimodal models, or large vision models, or with related concepts such as language modeling or computer vision.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
Experience in AI/ML quality evaluation and improvement.
