About The Position

Etsy is hiring a Senior Staff Quantitative UX Researcher to help lead a quantitative research practice within its Product Research team and work across the buyer experience. This highly collaborative and influential individual-contributor role uses rigorous survey design, statistical analysis, and experimental methods to inform product decisions. The researcher works with Product, Design, Engineering, Analytics, and other researchers to turn quantitative evidence into clear priorities, standards, and recommendations. The position reports to a Director of Research. Etsy’s mixed-methods research team uses quantitative and qualitative approaches to guide the development of buyer and seller experiences in its marketplace. Research informs buyer experiences and the strategies, tools, and features that help sellers build and grow their businesses. The team promotes inclusion, collaboration, and professional development. The role leads research on business-critical questions about the buyer experience, integrating surveys, behavioral and log data, customer-experience tracking, competitive intelligence, and existing research. It translates complex evidence into recommendations for product roadmaps, design standards, and investment decisions, while partnering with and mentoring researchers to strengthen quantitative and mixed-methods practices and usability measurement. This is a full-time position. Etsy prioritizes candidates within commuting distance of its Brooklyn office, where team members are asked to work onsite once or twice per week depending on proximity. Remote candidates outside commuting distance may be considered case by case and should expect occasional travel to the office. Base salary depends on location, skills, and experience. The annual salary range is $203,000–$275,000 in Geo-1 and $183,000–$247,000 in Geo-2. The role is also eligible for equity and an annual performance bonus, in addition to competitive benefits.
