About The Position

As a member of HarbourVest’s Quantitative Investment Sciences (QIS) team, the Senior Associate, Quantitative Researcher works with experienced researchers to develop and conduct quantitative modeling and analysis of investment opportunities. The role supports investment strategy teams with active investment diligence, pipeline monitoring, portfolio construction, and quantitative insights for client engagements and fundraising. Projects use large proprietary private-market datasets and statistical models to enhance a historically fundamental research-based investment process. The position focuses on quantitative and statistical analysis of private markets and investment opportunities, with additional responsibility for responding to ad-hoc analysis requests from client-facing teams. The researcher helps evaluate private equity co-investment opportunities, communicates actionable findings to investment teams, supports integration of QIS models with deal teams’ fundamental analysis, and explores new AI/ML methods for investment research. This is a hybrid position. Employees may use 18 remote workdays per quarter at their discretion, subject to manager approval. The role involves uneven workloads and high-priority project work. The listed U.S. base salary range is $180,000–$210,000, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement contributions, health insurance, income protection, paid time off and leave benefits, and well-being programs.
