Senior Staff Product Manager

OpenLoop Health•Des Moines, IA

About The Position

OpenLoop is a digital health infrastructure company whose white-label platform helps healthcare and non-healthcare brands launch and operate virtual and hybrid care. Its offering combines a nationwide telehealth clinician network, payer coverage, pharmacy and lab partners, EHR connectivity, patient support, and revenue cycle management. OpenLoop serves more than 3 million patients annually and powers over 300,000 visits monthly. The Senior Staff Product Manager will set direction for a product domain across one of four pillars: Patient Care; Client Experience & Forward Deployment; Platform Reliability & Infrastructure; or Data & AI. The role has broad scope and influence, including shaping strategy with the VP of Product, aligning multiple teams, and helping establish product processes as the company grows. The position is accountable for domain outcomes and strategy, from defining a 12–24-month vision and success metrics to planning delivery and making tradeoffs. It includes cross-functional leadership, close engagement with partners, clinicians, and patients, and identifying and shipping AI capabilities with human review, pre-launch evaluation, and ongoing monitoring. The Senior Staff Product Manager also uses AI tools in day-to-day product work, mentors other product managers, and helps improve how the product organization plans, writes, prioritizes, and ships.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of product management experience, including significant experience owning complex, multi-team products at Staff level or equivalent.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment where priorities shift, processes are still forming, and responsibilities are broad.
  • Demonstrated product leadership, including setting strategy for a product area, influencing senior leaders, and articulating personally driven outcomes.
  • Track record of influencing senior leaders and aligning engineering, design, and business teams around a shared plan, including resolving conflicting priorities.
  • Strong partnership with engineering and design; ability to understand technical constraints, make sound tradeoffs, and earn cross-functional trust.
  • Experience connecting product work to business outcomes such as revenue, retention, cost, or customer impact, and building the business case for investment.
  • Ability to communicate a compelling product direction that motivates engineers, customers, and executives.
  • Experience mentoring or developing other product managers and shaping product organization practices.
  • Comfort working in complex environments involving constraints such as regulation, security requirements, or deep third-party integrations.
  • Hands-on experience building or shipping AI-powered features, measuring their quality, and responding when models produce incorrect results.
  • Daily use of AI tools as part of product work.
  • Ability to move between multi-year strategy and detailed work involving data, product requirements documents, or prototypes.
  • Clear communication with executives, engineers, and customers, including delivering unwelcome news early.

  • Familiarity with EHR or practice-management integrations.
  • Technical background in engineering, data, or machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Define a 12–24-month vision for the product domain, explain the rationale and sequence, and gain leadership and team alignment.
  • Translate strategy into a clear narrative that aligns and motivates the company through changing priorities.
  • Own measurable outcomes tied to partner growth, patient outcomes, revenue, and operational efficiency.
  • Define three to five domain success metrics, review them with leadership, and course-correct when results fall short.
  • Lead cross-functional decisions across engineering, design, data, clinical, operations, and go-to-market teams; make tradeoffs visible and resolve conflicts.
  • Identify valuable AI applications for patients, clinicians, and partners, and ship them with human review, pre-launch evaluations, and post-launch monitoring.
  • Use AI tools for research, prototyping, analysis, specifications, and prioritization, and help the product team adopt similar practices.
  • Turn ambiguous, over-scoped, or conflicting requests into defensible phased plans that clearly identify what will not be done.
