Senior Staff Product Manager

OpenLoop Health•Des Moines, IA

About The Position

OpenLoop is a digital health infrastructure company that enables healthcare and non-healthcare brands to launch, scale, and operate virtual and hybrid care through a white-label platform. Its services include a nationwide telehealth clinician network, payer coverage, pharmacy and lab partners, EHR connectivity, 24/7 patient support, and revenue cycle management. OpenLoop serves more than 3 million patients annually and powers over 300,000 visits each month. OpenLoop is hiring Senior Staff Product Managers across Patient Care, Client Experience & Forward Deployment, Platform Reliability & Infrastructure, and Data & AI. The role sets direction for a product domain over a 12–24-month horizon, shapes strategy with the VP of Product, and influences decisions across multiple teams. It combines strategic leadership with hands-on product work in a fast-growing company whose processes are still developing. The Senior Staff Product Manager is accountable for outcomes across their domain, including partner growth, patient outcomes, revenue, and operational efficiency. The role leads cross-functional decisions, communicates product strategy, defines and reviews success metrics, and turns ambiguous or conflicting requests into clear phased plans. It also identifies and delivers valuable AI capabilities with human review, pre-launch evaluations, and post-launch monitoring, while using AI tools in day-to-day product work. The role stays connected to partners, clinicians, and patients, mentors product managers, and helps improve how the product organization plans, writes, and ships.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of product management experience, including significant experience owning complex, multi-team products at Staff level or equivalent.
  • Startup or high-growth company experience, including work amid shifting priorities and evolving processes.
  • Demonstrated product leadership, including setting strategy for a product area, influencing senior leaders, and identifying personally driven outcomes.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders and aligning engineering, design, and business teams around a shared plan, including resolving competing priorities.
  • Strong partnership with engineering and design, with the ability to understand technical constraints, make sound tradeoffs, and earn cross-functional trust.
  • Experience tying product work to business outcomes such as revenue, retention, cost, or customer impact, and building a business case for investment.
  • Ability to communicate a compelling product direction to engineers, customers, and executives.
  • Experience mentoring or developing other product managers and shaping product organization practices.
  • Comfort working in complex environments with constraints such as regulation, security requirements, or deep third-party integrations.
  • Hands-on experience building or shipping AI-powered features, measuring their quality, and addressing cases where models perform incorrectly.
  • Regular use of AI tools as part of product work.
  • Ability to move between multi-year strategy and detailed work such as data, PRDs, or prototypes.
  • Clear communication with executives, engineers, and customers, including communicating unwelcome news early.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, or another regulated domain, such as HIPAA, clinical workflows, payer, or pharmacy.
  • Experience with B2B2C, platform, API, or white-label products.
  • Experience in client-facing or forward-deployed product roles.
  • Familiarity with EHR or practice-management integrations.
  • A technical background in engineering, data, or machine learning.

Responsibilities

  • Define a 12–24-month vision for the product domain, explain the rationale and sequencing, and gain leadership and team alignment.
  • Translate strategy into a clear narrative that motivates teams and supports alignment through changing priorities.
  • Own measurable product outcomes, including partner growth, patient outcomes, revenue, and operational efficiency.
  • Define three to five domain success metrics, review them with leadership, and course-correct when results fall short.
  • Drive decisions across engineering, design, data, clinical, operations, and go-to-market teams, making tradeoffs visible and resolving conflicts.
  • Identify where AI can create meaningful value for patients, clinicians, and partners, and ship AI features with human review, evaluations before launch, and monitoring after launch.
  • Use AI tools in daily research, prototyping, analysis, specification, and prioritization, and help the product team do the same.
  • Turn ambiguous, over-scoped, or conflicting requests into defensible phased plans, including clear decisions about what not to do.
  • Engage with partners, clinicians, and patients, and use their evidence to address recurring gaps in the platform.
  • Mentor product managers and improve how the product organization writes, prioritizes, plans, and ships.
