Responsible for architecture, design, deployment, and troubleshooting of different software solutions. Interacts with the business and product teams to influence requirements. Responsible for integration with all business systems and applications. Works closely with the architecture and networking teams, to influence the design, validation, and deployments.
Requirements
- Strong coding skills in Go or Python or JavaScript
- Senior Staff‑level experience building and operating production systems or internal developer platforms
- Deep experience with API lifecycle management and governance (OpenAPI, OAuth2/OIDC, versioning, compatibility)
- Hands‑on experience with Terraform (providers and modules), Kubernetes, and Linux‑based CI/CD
- Familiarity with gateways/edge technologies (e.g., Apigee, ALB, Ingress, Envoy) and identity/authorization patterns
- An automation‑first mindset and comfort owning systems end‑to‑end while leading through influence
Nice To Haves
- Experience with SDK generation for multi‑language clients and compatibility testing
- Experience with developer and documentation platforms (e.g., Docusaurus, Backstage, Confluence), including plugins and build integrations
- Experience with MCP and safe agentic/AI workflows for developer tooling
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own the tooling that powers Equinix’s API ecosystem. This includes API governance and specifications, SDK/IaC/documentation generation, and developer platform workflows—running on Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
- Lead technically across teams, improve developer experience, and raise reliability through automation (including AI‑assisted checks)
