About The Position

Revv is hiring a senior- or staff-level data engineer to help integrate data from Revv and AirPro Diagnostics following their merger. The role will assess the existing multi-cloud data environment and establish a practical, scalable data platform across AWS and Azure. It will bring AirPro’s production data from SQL Server on Azure into the Snowflake data lake alongside Revv’s existing AWS, Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake pipelines, with ownership of the architecture and evaluation of options such as Azure Synapse. The engineer will build trusted, tested, and documented dbt models for analytics in Power BI and Hex, integrate Salesforce and ERP data with finance and sales teams, and help establish data governance, quality, ownership, SOC 2, and international data-handling practices. As the integration develops, the role will help use connected data across customer touchpoints to create products and better experiences for shops. The position reports to the Head of Product Analytics, with a dotted line to engineering leadership on the AirPro platform side. The engineer will partner daily with the analytics team and regularly with finance, sales, and product leadership. Success includes mapping data needs and presenting a leadership-approved infrastructure plan within 90 days, integrating accessible data across Revv and AirPro within six months, and helping turn data into a strategic asset and customer-serving products within 12 months. The role is NYC-based and hybrid, with work in the office one to two days per week; most collaboration occurs on Eastern Time. Occasional team onsite travel is mentioned as an example.

Requirements

  • Typically 6 or more years of data engineering experience, including ownership of platform-level design decisions.
  • Deep, hands-on production experience with Snowflake and dbt.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Working familiarity with the Azure data ecosystem, such as SQL Server, Data Factory, or Synapse.
  • Sound architectural judgment across ingestion, orchestration, and modeling, with the ability to clearly explain tradeoffs.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, make progress without perfect information, and find ways around blockers.
  • Habit of documenting work so that people outside engineering can understand and trust the data.
  • Experience partnering across functions and translating business questions into data requirements and vice versa.
  • Experience at a SaaS or software company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building data that powers customer-facing products, including ML or AI features.
  • Experience integrating data across clouds or following an acquisition or merger.
  • Experience with Fivetran and modern orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Experience establishing data governance, SOC 2 controls, or data residency practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assess data needs across engineering, product, finance, sales, and operations, and evaluate the current data infrastructure.
  • Develop and present a practical strategy for a data platform that scales across AWS and Azure.
  • Integrate AirPro production data from SQL Server on Azure into Snowflake alongside Revv’s existing AWS, Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake pipelines.
  • Evaluate and pressure-test potential architecture choices, including Azure Synapse, and own the resulting architecture.
  • Build clean, tested, and well-documented dbt models for use by analytics teams in Power BI and Hex.
  • Partner with finance and sales to integrate Salesforce and ERP data and make revenue and operating metrics consistent across the company.
  • Help establish data governance, quality, ownership, SOC 2 controls, and international data-handling practices.
  • Help turn connected data across customer touchpoints into products and improved experiences for the shops Revv serves.
  • Document models, decisions, and strategy so people outside engineering can use and trust the data.
