About The Position

The Senior Staff Analog Engineer will take a technical lead or make significant contributions to analog design for complex power management integrated circuits. The role provides guidance to analog team members on best practices, drives improvements, and represents Renesas in front of external customers. The engineer interprets requirements to develop system and design strategies, leads major circuit blocks through production, and oversees design, simulation, and layout to meet performance, area, power, and schedule constraints. The role also includes owning complex block designs, conducting circuit feasibility studies, leading laboratory evaluation with Applications Engineers, and producing documentation for IP blocks. The position supports design innovation and methodology improvements, DFT strategy and implementation, test development and production ramp, and top-level simulation and verification planning. It also involves mentoring less experienced colleagues, managing personal development, customer-facing project work, and supporting the RFQ process as needed. Other reasonable ad hoc tasks may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10+ years of analog design experience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret requirement specifications and develop system and design strategies for power management products.
  • Provide technical leadership for major blocks and guide designs successfully into production.
  • Design, simulate, and supervise layout of CMOS power management circuits within performance, area, power, and schedule constraints.
  • Own complex block designs, delegate tasks where appropriate, and review design work.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new circuits and ensure designs meet specifications.
  • Lead laboratory evaluation in collaboration with Applications Engineers.
  • Produce high-quality documentation for owned IP blocks.
  • Lead innovation in designs and methodologies to increase power management capabilities.
  • Support DFT strategy and implementation.
  • Partner with the test team to ensure appropriate test development for production ramp.
  • Plan and implement top-level simulation and verification.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Proactively drive personal development using team members and internal development opportunities.
  • Build customer-facing relationships as part of the project team and represent the company to external customers.
  • Support the RFQ process where necessary.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks considered reasonable by the manager.
