About The Position

HP Tuners is seeking a self-motivated experienced Senior Staff Accountant. This role will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records through timely accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role plays a key part in the monthly and year-end close processes, supports financial analysis, and identifies opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. This role will be based onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL. This position reports to the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

  • ERP System (NetSuite) experience is required.
  • Ecommerce System Experience is required; WooCommerce preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills.
  • Understanding (preferably interest) of emerging automotive and technologies industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Ability and willingness to keep maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently.
  • Desire to continue to grow through continuing training and research.

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • WooCommerce preferred.
  • Understanding (preferably interest) of emerging automotive and technologies industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assistance with month-end closing, financial analysis, forecast, and tracking of company initiatives.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review work of staff accountants.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports and creates additional reports as required by management.
  • Work with external accountants and supports the Accounting Manager on the annual review process.
  • Position will train in all areas of the accounting function and is expected to serve as the back-up for other accounting personnel (i.e., back-up A/P or A/R if the staff accountant is out).
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Perform ad hoc projects, including support of management team reporting; support of financial modeling and support of other special projects as assigned or required.
