About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and work directly with the finance team on month-end close, financial planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and training. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and other information reported to internal and external users. The position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while achieving department goals and objectives. Anticimex Carolinas is a drug-free company and requires a clean criminal background and credit check.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 4 years of general ledger experience
  • Minimum of 4 years full cycle accounting experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt when changes occur to priorities, procedures, and responsibilities
  • Proactive communicator keeping supervisors, other leaders, and their respective teams updated
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, passionate about accounting
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings which include property tax listings, sales and use, etc.
  • Understand and respect the need for confidentiality of company data
  • Quick learner with strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of reviewing financial statements and reconciling accounts
  • Fixed Asset accounting

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Controller and work directly with the finance team on month-end close, financial planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and training.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the financial statements and other information reported to internal and external users.
  • Prepare and post general ledger journals including prepaid expenses, accruals, and other ledger activity as needed.
  • Complete the monthly financial close process within established timelines.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations within established timelines.
  • Maintain fixed assets; includes asset additions, disposals, sales, and monthly depreciation.
  • Collaborate with other departments for management of inventory and the inventory system.
  • Provide internal and external auditors with requested information.
  • Assist parent company and outside accounting firm with tax filings.
  • Receptive to training for role and other finance team duties.
  • Participation in cross-functional training within finance team.
  • Finance ad hoc reporting and projects.
  • Back up various accounting functions as needed.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while achieving department goals and objectives.
