About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for operational accounting, managing/reconciling general ledger accounts, researching and resolving variances, preparing journal entries and preparing various spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in related position.
  • Experience with accounting software and exposure to corporate IT systems and networks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (primarily Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining/reconciling certain general ledger accounts and researching and resolving variances.
  • Prepare adjusting entries, accruals, and closing entries to maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the accounting records and to facilitate an efficient accounting close process.
  • Maintaining certain processes documentation.
  • Run close process in NetSuite and post close reports.
  • Review POs monthly for accruals and close POs when out of date.
  • Assist with intercompany charges billed to other Canon entities.
  • Assist with gathering information for annual tax return preparation.
  • Prepare various financial reports for management and Canon.
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting.
  • File Annual Reports.
  • Coordinate with Canon auditors as needed.
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with Company’s procedures for internal control.
  • Represent Finance and Accounting Department in cross functional projects as needed.
