Millennium Corporation is hiring a corporate Senior Staff Accountant to join our team based out of the National Capitol Region. This role is currently able to be performed in a fully remote capacity, but is subject to change to 100% on site in Falls Church, VA. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related accounting experience (experience in a Gov Con environment preferred)
  • Must be local to the DC Metro area for consideration.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
  • Experience with DCAA audits, Business and State Tax Preparation, Incurred Cost Submissions, and Statement of Indirects preferred.
  • Experience reviewing project status reports or project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for the general financial accounting and reporting activities of the organization.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review, analyze, and adjust journal entries on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare, record, and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts.
  • Ensure all internal and external financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist with the accounting for leases in accordance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.
  • Maintain accurate process and procedures for all reports and tasks.
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.
  • Assist in local/state registrations.
  • Assist with budget analysis, maintenance, and forecasting.
  • Assist with AP and Payroll duties as needed.
  • Assist with AR tracking and cash collection.
